NEWCON OPTIK is proud to announce that it has been awarded a Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) Canada supply contract for a quantity of LRM 3500M laser rangefinders. Newcon Optik’s LRM 3500M has been in use with DFO’s Ecosystem Sciences Division (ESD) for the study of migrating whales and their interactions with shipping lanes, and DFO’s Conservation & Protection branch now requires an additional supply for use in the protection of whale pods under the recently-updated Marine Mammal Regulations.
